What is DIN?

DIN is the German standardization authority and participates in international and regional non-governmental standardization bodies as a national standardization body.

DIN is a registered private association with approximately 6,000 industrial companies and organizations. There are 123 standard committees and 3,655 work committees.

The purpose of DIN is to develop and publish German standards and other standardization work for the benefit of the public and to promote their application in order to help rationalize economic, technical, scientific, management and public affairs, Quality assurance, safety and mutual understanding.

 DIN

DIN has developed two product certification marks, the "DIN mark" and the "DIN test and supervision mark", in addition to a quality system certification system.

It was originally registered as a monogram of the Standardization Association and will be used on the product in the future, indicating that the product complies with the relevant DIN standards. Any enterprise that guarantees that its product quality meets the corresponding DIN standards can be freely adopted and is manufactured at its factory. The superscript is marked with the DIN mark. DIN has the right to supervise and inspect products with the DIN mark. If there is any DIN standard, the penalties will be imposed.

It is a third-party product certification system implemented in 1972. According to the "DIN Inspection and Supervision Marks Granting Guidelines", the products applying for the mark shall be sampled by the inspection agency designated by DGWK to prove that they fully comply with all the requirements of the DIN standard before the DIN inspection and supervision marks are used. The validity period is 5 In the year, the application for extension may be made upon expiration. If it is found in the regular supervision and inspection that it does not meet the DIN requirements, the license for the use of the revocation mark shall be revoked.

In February 1985, the German System Certification Group (DQS) was established by DIN and the Federal Institute for Quality Assurance (DGQ) to undertake the assessment and approval of the quality assurance system for enterprises and institutions. In May 1987, the national standard for quality system of DIN9000 ~ 9004 was issued as the basis for system certification.

After registering the DIN inspection and supervision mark in 1972 and implementing the third-party product certification system, the DIN product quality certification has been further developed. By 1984, nearly 15,000 certificates had been assessed and issued by DGWK, and an average of 1,000 new certificates were issued each year. The German national standard DIN9000 ~ 9004 for quality system is almost released simultaneously with the ISO9000 standard series. The publication of this standard lays a good foundation for the implementation of independent quality system certification.

It is worth mentioning that our OWOZ fasteners are fully DIN-compliant and can be purchased and used with confidence!
